Squatters evicted from the Black Horse, now in the Hand and Raquet according to their web comments.

I read in the Telegraph today in an article about squatters, that this pub has now been occupied by these scum bags. Perhaps, having read previous comments, that some changes of the management needed to be made, but squatters is going to far. They need to be evisted and sent packing back to Holland, or wherever sqatters come from these days

2nd of October.
This is or was one of our stopping off points when walking to the station. Today it is closed with no mention of an opening date.
Sign directs you to the Marquis further down the road.

This pub has closed (observation 25 Sep 10). Notices outside direct would-be customers to The Marquis of Granby, nearby.

What can I say - what a strange mish mash of a pub.
We walked in there was an almighty stink - not sure of what - but it was so offensive that I had cover my face with my scarf..
I then really im not joking get some perfume from a lady friend who was with us to put under my nose.
We stayed as the others in group didnt want to go looking anymore for pubs.

Pub was full of tourists - as expected.
We got served fairly well and I had a pint of Dangleberry.
Service was speedy which was good.

The pub continued to *hum * -- and we found a table and noticed that all tables with candles on them were running scented candles
obviously a known problem in here.

Im glad we stayed just for the beer
the Dangleberry was delicious - and very well kept - i didnt think any of the bar staff would know what that means but whoever looked after the ales there does a good job...

Pub is small and dinghy otherwise..

I would go back - with a gas mask - just for the guest beers or if they had Dangleberry on tap again!
