A revisit last month as part of a CAMRA crawl. Excellent pub with sensibly priced, moreish real ale. Recommended.

Cracking pub serving well kept, well priced ale. A bit ramshackle maybe but who the hell cares. A better prospect beer & price-wise than the pub at the opposite end of the platform.

Not sure what this place is about, just seems to be a room with sticky beer splattered floors, second hand school furniture and full of bloody students. More akin to the student bar at a Uni. Rancid. And my pint was off too.

Called-in while changing trains. Service is always friendly and efficient. Ales are kept in tip-top condition and good value - starting at £2.20 a pint. There is always at least one dark ale and one strong one. Big, good value sandwiches help soak-up the ale.

The furnishings? I'd go to Habitat or Ikea - not a pub - if interior design was my primary concern.

Splendid pub - always worth a visit.

Can't really say much more than what as been written. This pub is OK but with a little imagination, effort and probably not too much capital investment it could be a gem. Would visit again but prefer the Head of Steam at t'other end of platform.
