Awesome pub, great beer and cider. Wish I lived nearer! daveyravey - 1 May 2012 17:09
Average kind of real ale establishment. The pint of 1832 was okay rather than good. There was a rather cryptic kind of quiz whihc very few of the particpants managed to get much of right while I was there. Snarling_Mallard - 20 Feb 2012 21:56
The pub is home to The Brew Company beers too. As well as great cask beers they also have a good range of cider and perry. Normally live music at the weekends. Known to we locals as The Manchester after its former name. Camraboy - 27 Nov 2011 09:09
Good selection of Ales, food and Open Mike night. Very attentive staff. Handy for 1 on the way to/from Kelham Island. rpf1955 - 21 Oct 2011 16:58
Called in last Friday with the missus. I've been in the Harlequin many times before and we are well acquainted with Sheffield's 'valley of beer'. Very few people in the pub while we were in (8:30 ish). Got myself a pint of something which I can't remember the name of now but which was clearly 'off'. Had an initial slurp and my wife had a sip because I wanted to confirm what I thought (although I didn't have any doubt). Took the more than 3/4 pint back to the bar and had a (pleasant) discussion with the lad behind the bar who insisted that this beer was mean't to taste like this (vinegar flavoured beer, what a novelty!). He eventually agreed to change it for something else and then pulled me a half because he said that was all the landlady would allow as a replacement. I shan't be going back here. I don't make a habit of complaining without good reason and if there had been any doubt about the beer I would not have had an issue with drinking it. I have had many, many beers over the years which have not been to my taste but I wouldn't dream of taking them back unless they were obviously 'off'. Many more good pubs in the vicinity so I shan't miss this one too much. JCsbrogues - 2 Sep 2011 19:58
