Katy and Stuart are proud to welcome you to The Chequers, a friendly family pub based in the delightful village of Berrick Salome near Wallingford, South Oxfordshire. We offer a warm welcome, well-kept real ales, world wines and delicious home-cooked, rustic refined food. We offer a wide range of dishes to suit a variety of appetites, with vegetarian/vegan dishes always available, as well as fresh fish and local meat. Our children's menu is varied, not the usual 'chips with everything!' Our large garden is a real pleasure on warmer days, complete with garden patio and children's play area. On colder days, our fuel-burning stoves and cosy snug provide a welcome opportunity to warm up. We offer a range of bar games, including bar skittles, darts and crib, with Aunt Sally in the garden in the summer months. Our Granary with its beamed and vaulted ceiling, is perfect for that special occasion or private function. We aim to exceed your expectations and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

| Well popped in again, still great food and drink ' beer is very well kept'. I turned up for there Champagn Breakfast, they only do this at bank holiday time and it was marvellous, and a great start to the day, very well worth a visit. xxJamesxx - 12 Oct 2010 14:18 |
| Since I last wrote I have used this pub fequently with joy, it is one of the best, what they do, works, simple as that. Staff and service is welcoming and freindly, nothing is to much trouble. They really have tried to integrate into the village life, with the Quiz night (Tuesday) and even early morning, Champagne Breakfasts at Bank holidays. | Called in again last night on the off chance, and it was Fish Friday - 6 different Fish meals on main menu and specials board. Place! was full, and they keep cooking as long as there were people to be served, none of this stopping at 9pm lark, like others....... The Prawn Sizzler is magic on a plate....... Once you have been and eaten, you get a 20% off your next meal on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thurday, better try this quickly, it won't last the way people are coming through the doors......... | New people 'Zak & Jenny' arrived about a month ago, settling in and get to grips with the place, good menu at very good prices.
